I highly, highly recommend Princeton Review!!!! Unfortunately, after I've taken the GRE officially, my math score is poorer than my practice test score before instruction. It is also lower than when I took the official test a year ago without any prep.
Math instruction from PR is not only inadequate, but in my case, detrimental to my score. I feel as if I have to ! He scored 2. 7 on the ACT part of the test. We enrolled him to the ACT ultimate small group course in June 2.
On their first test on the first day, he scored 2. So just by enrolling in the course, he already . The goal of that, we learned in hindsight, was to have his baseline score as low as possible, so they can later claim my son's ACT score did improve, when in fact, it did not.
Took the refresher course online, took the test a second time, got a 2. Like we did not see that coming. You have one very very upset customer. I will do whatever I can to convince others to never take your class ever again. Very disappointed with the courses they are dictated by students not credential teachers they do not have a system to reinforce the weakness areas so you waste your money and you never find out what areas you have to focus is better to use the money in a more personalize clases. I used the Princeton Review across from UC Irvine (at University Town Center) in order to prepare for the GRE. Everyone at Princeton Review was very professional and helpful.

They made me feel comfortable and at ease. Heidi was my tutor and she did an excellent job through and through!

Princeton Review Organic Chemistry
She was flexible on meeting times/locations and explained everything very clearly so that I could understand the material. It is obvious that she has a lot of experience. I took the exam twice and my scores improved markedly as a result of Heidi's tutoring. My official scores were well above the requirements for admission to my graduate program of choice.
I highly recommend this Princeton Review center and Heidi as a tutor. I am a student who worked with the Princeton Review in order to improve my SAT score. I wrote an earlier review and just got my sons test scores. He went from a 3. English to a 3. 6 and in reading from a 2.
His overall score was a 3. He really is awesome!!! Thank you Brian!!*Coming from the point of view of the daughter of this Yelp user*. When I first began my private tutoring sessions with Allan from Princeton Review, I knew that this was different from any . Rather than focus on rote memorization or waste away time with busy work, every lesson was spent with my tutor explaining how to understand the questions being asked and different techniques to attack each section of the test. Allan is extremely easy to talk to and he definitely lightened the pressures of preparing for such a critical test for my academic future. Communication, punctuality, and resources were never an issue.
Coming from my standpoint, this unique program can effectively help anyone attain their goal score for any exam. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Brian NGUYEN of Princeton Review, was ranked the best tutor my daughter has ever worked with, and our other tutors are generally Ph. D candidates. We had private sessions with him to prepare her for the ACT exam, and her results both improved and were great. His attitude was always positive, patient and supportive and he ended each session with a special treat for the whole family. I know he also offers review classes, but for us, the convenience of in- home tutoring, especially with Brian, was well worth the cost. I can't offer high enough praise.
After posting my negative review, and seeing Allan's response, I reached out to him. He helped me raise my score from a 2. Also, he's super cool guy and was very professional! I registered my daughter for SAT class Jul- Aug 2. Received an email couple of days ago saying class will probably be cancelled and one of the options given is to take their private class paying $1. As all other private classes have already started she has no option and is stressed as she is planning on taking the exam in October to avoid the new SAT. From when he first started talking, I knew that he was different.
He understood high school students and I immediately sought him out. He helped me one on one as I prepared for the SAT. He was understanding and knew how to get me to think about the SAT in a way that I could get. When I felt down about the SAT, he helped encouraged me. Princeton Review helped me prepare for my second take of the SAT by providing a FREE Online Refresher Course, which was helpful in my second take of the SAT.
Also I highly recommend Allan Pulido. Just talk to him for a little bit and you'll see why he's different and helpful. I have actually never taken a course here but was frantically looking everywhere for any free OAT (Optometry Admissions Test) exam. My test was a week away and I was desperate for any additional practice.
I called the office and was greeted by Nicole. No OAT Practice Exams were given around that time. However, she offered to send me one of their OAT practice tests I can take/and time myself at home. Three days before the test, I took a picture of my answers and she personally scored my test and even sent me my OAT score report the day after. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, Nicole!
For the MCAT: So I'm re- writing this review because I'm a bit disappointed with my 2nd experience with TPR. Physics teacher is ok, Chem and O. Chem teachers are probably the best and Bio is pretty good. I'm taking away a star because the worst section right now is CARS (critical analysis) because we basically haven't had a steady teacher since the beginning of the class and right now it's week 5. They need to DRILL us with passages and more techniques that help with the short test time. All the online material is very helpful obviously but I wish the physics and CARS class/instructors were way more effective and interactive. Especially since these are the hardest sections (at least for me they are).
There is also no in class section for the psych/socio part which I find really odd considering its a section on its own on the new mcat. Steep price for a class size of 2.
There is plenty of practice for me to do both online and with the textbooks/materials provided with the course so even if I don't get what is taught in class, it's easily self taught online. After working with various SAT tutors, The Princeton Review finally gave me what I had been looking for. I did a couple privates with Allan Pulido, and he was amazing!!! He was not only an excellent teacher, but he made learning really enjoyable and he was super easy and fun to talk to. Before, I always felt as if the tutor did not comprehend my way of thinking, and therefore could not identify my errors (or help me fix them for that matter). Allan was completely different: he had worked with so many high- scoring students that he knew exactly how to help me. Allan also tried to work on building my confidence, because honestly, that was the key factor in my case.
I was getting the same score for months, and when I finally took the real SAT (after my sessions with Allan) my score increased by 1. She was wonderful to work with. She helped him raise his score and was very flexible with his tight schedule.
I have no problem recommending her and Princeton review. Tutoring at Princeton Review is amazing- my tutor, Ms. Stein, is extremely patient and helpful.
She explains each mistake I make carefully and even answers my emails when I ask her questions outside of class time. I would definitely recommend this institute. The salespeople at PR were very informative, candid and professional. The representative made a great impression.
The staff had to grade a few tests and they met all expectations on that. We went with a private tutor and found him to be professional, courteous, always on time and very effective. He gave our High School student the coaching, strategies and advice to conquer the SAT test. The results after 1. Now we have all the tools, access to PR offices and staff and the plan to take the results to a higher level on round two. We think the private tutor route is ideal and recommend PR.
Princeton Nails - 2. Reviews - Nail Salons - 6 Nassau St, Princeton, NJ - Phone Number. Nassau St. Princeton, NJ0. Love it! Kate and Minsun did an amazingly meticulous job!
I've been to a lot of nail places and this place is the real deal. You will not be disappointed.
Good communication, excellent job! I normally get my nails done in New Brunswick/Edison Area. But since my car broke down and I needed one as my graduation and a photo shooting session was coming up, I had to find a spot in Princeton within walking distance from where I live. I was accommodated immediately. Lucy did a good job with my pedi but the mani was awful.
First, Lucy was switched to do someone else's gel mani and another woman cleaned the cuticles. Later I found that there was a bad cut on my thumb from it.
It didn't hurt but it was a piece of skin missing. The gel polish was apparently running low and drying out. My gel mani appeared even at first sight but there are actually a lot of small bubbles entrapped, which really annoyed me every time I looked at my nails.
Only today I found out that he charged my $6. Also the atmosphere there is so depressing- the manager and the korean ladies there were super serious and looked strict. They made me feel like that I was gonna get yelled at if I didn't behave properly. It felt like no one was allowed to talk there or they'd get in trouble. I was a little hesitant to go to this salon considering some of the unfavorable reviews on Yelp, but it's pretty conveniently located near my parents' house so I gave it a try. I've gotten gel manicures at numerous salons in New York, Jersey, and other places while on vacation, and the one I got at Princeton Nails lasted the longest without any chips.
My manicure lasted close to 4 weeks and I only got it removed because the grown- out part started to look really tacky. It's passable, but I can honestly do better at home. I had to ask the technician to stop going after my cuticles after she made me bleed.
I also had to ask her to paint all the way to edges (she was leaving some awkward spaces around my cuticles, for some reason?), and she started doing that. Still, the outcome is pretty damn sloppy. I went with a friend and hers came out better. I think they just need some quality control- -it seems like your experience depends on who you get, which is a problem. It was cheap enough that I'm willing to try them one more time and I'll update then.
Otherwise, I'd never go back again. I go here routinely (once a month), and can definitely confirm that the quality of the nail services, and the efficiency/convenience are great. Despite the poor customer service, all of the technicians I saw were really good, so I keep going back - just don't get why they don't put in at least minimal effort to be nice to customers. I had Julia and she was great with my standard gel manicure. She was also very professional as right before me there were a couple of young children getting their nails done, with each finger a different color, and they were a pretty rowdy group because of their young age.
Still she was quick, clean, and patient with them. Overall I enjoyed my experience with Julia who unfortunately on works on Sundays. The staff is really good, as are the prices.
But the manager/owner is very pushy & rude! He kept asking me to pay while my nails were still drying and then rushed me out while they were still wet, so they ended up getting messed up.. Very frustrating!!!!! Don't go ! I was silly enough to give this place a second chance today : (.
First time they did a so- so job and I forgot about it because it is good to be understanding a forgiving.. After standing there for 5 min I got their attention and said we are here for 6: 0. No one cared to ask us about anything or even offer to sit: ( . I am never going back there and will not recommend this place to anyone . Please let's stop giving our money to places that do not respect customers because they are busy and got enough work for the day !
I would give this one star if it weren't for the two amazing technicians I've had there before (Rosa and Chrissy). If you can get an appointment with one of them, you'll have a good experience. When we got there, they only were able to accommodate one person but didn't tell us. So I got my pedicure while my mom sat in the waiting chair the entire time.
The owner waved her away when she asked what was going on. The pedicure I had was HORRIBLE. The stone burned very badly and left a red burn mark on my foot. I'm bummed that I'll be missing out on the great manicures and pedicures I received from the two techs mentioned earlier, but we will NEVER be returning. Used to come here.
They always did a fine job, not great, but not horrible or anything. Two ladies were doing our nails and chit chatting as per usual. One of them nicked my friend's nail and awkwardly tried to cover it up even though we both could see she messed up..
She turns to the lady who is doing my nails and says something in Korean to the extent of . You don't have to do a good job on them. We got up and walked out, and I haven't been back since.. I came in (Walk in) for my eyebrows getting waxed. It's a good price - 1.
First problem, when she cools the wax she blows on it. Firstly, the woman needed a tic tac like woah, second it's flu season and she's purposely blowing on my face. So she finishes up, no pain or anything, she did a good job with that, but then I look in the mirror and they're different heights! I look like I'm raising my eyebrow but I'm NOT.
And she made it thinner than I usually get it so I can't fix it. I'm going to have to walk around like this for weeks. I've never had a better manicure; I usually don't get anything other then a regular mani but they asked if I wanted to try the shellac and I actually really like it. My nails don't feel like they would get damaged and they've been on for a while and I have experienced any chips or damage.
While I was drying I accidentally touch the table and make a small dent on the polish but the lady who was doing my nails was really nice about and fixed it on the spot without complaining. I told the lady my feet were feeling a bit rough and she put in a lot of effort and extra care in scrubbing my feet. The little foot massage was a plus. The store is so cute and I enjoyed talking to the Princeton locals in the store too.
I have yet to find a salon comparable to this one in Boston. Expensive for the average college budget.
They do a great job and are the best in town, but the women are EXTREMELY rude. They have an attitude of they aren't tipped every single visit. They don't always greet customers and make honoring discount specials very difficult.
They are unprofessional in their business etiquette. They are only good at doing nails but business tact is not their strength at all. Also, be warned several of the women will burn you if you get your eyebrows done here.
If you have a different place you go to, stay there! I've been getting my nails done here for 2 years and I'm always completely satisfied! They have the best spa pedicures. My friend got a shimmery nude while I got a darker tone, and they came out fantastic - super shiny and not too thick. Well afterward during lunch, I nicked my nail on the edge of a door. When I went back to the salon to ask them about it, the owner quickly accommodated us and had someone re- do the nail promptly at no charge or complaint. Will definitely stay a regular customer, highly recommend!
I came here for a regular mani after work. The paint was so uneven that it felt lumpy to the touch, and I ended up removing it and repainting in the next day out of sheer frustration. I was so embarrassed, my face turned red. But overall, the experience wasn't too bad because the hot stone massage was really cool and the Korean ladies were super nice. Her recommendation of the shellac french has been a good idea so far, lets see how it keeps up in two weeks as promised, I have faith though. I guess I would go back if I had to or is the area. My bridesmaid made appointments for manicures and pedicures for five people for the day before my August wedding.
The reason I have been going to Princeton Nails is due to my son giving me a gift card for Christmas, and now that I have used the value of same, I am going to try Butterfly Nails in Princeton next time.
